For The QL Nightstand Series this week, we are thrilled to feature Laura Bindloss, the founder of New York-based PR agency Nylon Consulting. From the best of literary escapes to the latest business books, I can always count on Laura for a great recommendation. She’s that trusted friend I turn to right before a vacation to ensure my reading list is up to speed. This type of literary kinship is exactly what we celebrate at quartlerane and with #TheQLNightstand.
QL: What are you reading now / what’s on your list?
LB: The Power Of Habit. On my list – NastyGalaxy, the new book by Sophia Amoroso and A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles.
QL: Bedtime / nighttime ritual?
LB: I have a diffuser I bought with 6 different essential oils so now it is my ritual to put on lavender essence in the diffuser right before I go to bed – it helps me calm down from the day and sleep like a baby.
QL: Literary hero?
LB: As a child, Matilda or anyone from The Babysitters Club. As an adult, Katey Kontent from The Rules of Civility.
QL: Complete the sentence — the best thing about books is . . .
LB: . . . they help you to learn how to escape the realities of day to day life and at the same time teach you how to deal with them.
You can follow along Laura on Instagram (@nylonconsulting) and check out Domino magazine’s feature of her newly renovated vacation home in Maine (including quite a few #bookstagram worthy reading spaces!)
